Athletics and Rangers Tied After April Both Oakland and Texas have 15-10 records, but the Rangers have had the better of the A's in head-to-head match-ups. At the beginning of the season, many "experts" predicted the AL West would be a cake-walk for the Athletics. But when the dust cleared in April the A's and Rangers were knotted at the top of the division with a 15-10 record. In fact, the Rangers were responsible for half of the A's 10 losses on the month. Oakland only managed a 2-5 record against the division rivals. If the A's are going to successfully defend their division crown they will have to do a better job against Texas. Tim Hudson led the A's pitching staff with a 5-0 record and a 1.96 ERA. Jason Insringhausen lost his hold on the closer job and the team is now closing games by commitee. However, Jim Mecir seems to be the go to guy in most situations with 3 saves. Also see..Team stats for April, Standings after April, and Scores for April. |
